Documents that needs to be authenticated by DFA and Embassy : Marriage Certificate (if married) , PRC Board Certificate
Passport (photocopy only and notarized by a Notary Public) .(no need to bring to DFA and Embassy for authentication.
Please ignore the Malacanang step in authentication of documents...They removed that step April of 2007...
2.2.1 Request for a Certified True Copy of your PRC Board Certificate . Pay the required fees and then PRC will FORWARD it to DFA for authentication. You will be given a claim stub. Then you can claim it at the DFA after 2 weeks.
2.2.2 Request for a copy of yourMarriage Certificate at the NSO. Then bring the documents to the DFA for authentication. Pay the required fees (Php100 per doc) and claim it after 2 weeks.

2.2.4 Photocopy the first page of your passport (the one with your passport details) . Go to a legitimate Notary Public and have it Notarized as a Certified True Copy. No need to have it authenticated at the DFA and the Embassy.
2.2.5 Assuming that you already have the authenticated documents from DFA in hand plus your Notarized passport copy. Now call the New Zealand Embassy and ask for the schedule of authentication of documents (They only accept authentication twice or thrice a week and for a certain time period during the morning -- so it would be prudent to call them first for the skeds)

Have your documents( Marriage certificate (if applicable), PRC Board Certificate only) authenticated again by the New Zealand Embassy (1740PHP per doc).as of Jan 2008... Waiting time around an hour , you can claim it the same day.

Your forum is very informative. Regarding authentication of documents, I've read in the application form that certified true copy means a photocopy of the original which has been notarized by a qualified person. Do we really have to send NCNZ the birth certificate we got from NSO or we can just photocopy it and have it certified by a notary public before bringing it to DFA for authentication? Please enlighten me.
yes you really need to send the birth/marriage cert from the NSO and the PRC
cert fr PRC to the DFA-embassy then submit to NCNZ ...the only thing that u
can photocopy and notarized is the passport before u send it it ncnz...

hey! my mom just called nz embassy yesterday.. she said the nz embassy does the authentication from mon-friday 10-10:30am.. don't know if the sched changes every week or month though so it's still better to call them before you go there.. btw, my mom also said that authentication fees are now P1740 per document.. i don't know how true but maybe it will be better to prepare such amount just in case rather than getting short with 1500.. Ü
thanks for your help, just have a quick question. i am in this step now, and it says that after notarization, all docs must go to the DFA for authentication. however, in the form i got from NCNZ, it says that after notarization of docs, it must be sent to the legal department of the office of the president, malacanang for certication that the notary public is authentic before it goes to the DFA. can we skip the legal office part and go straight to DFA? thanks for your help!

NSO birth /marriage cert and PRC board certificate must be authenticated by the DFA then by the nz embassy ..for the passport all you need is a certified true copy from a notary public . then you can send it all sa ncnz

hi! i live in Negros and to go to manila to have my papers authenticated is very expensive. is it possible to authorize somebody in manila to have them authenticated at the NZ embassy?
yes you can authorize someone to do your authentication for you.
kailan ba ng Special power of attorney to authorize somebody or just the plain and simple authorization we usually do?

i'm confused..on some posts, they say you have to give your birth certificate to the dfa.. while on other posts, the birth certificate is not mentioned... ano po ang dapat? thank you so much!
I think malinaw naman dito sa post na you only need to authenticate the PRC board cert and marriage cert (if married).. And me copy ka ba ng NCNZ application form/checklist and guide.? Sa checklist eh wala naman nakalagay na birth certificate .
